Alpha Sigma Phi Monthly News Letter: Presidents Report  March 2009

 Hello Alpha Sig alumni, so much has happened since our last email and we want to keep all of our brothers in the loop as far as the Old Gal is concerned.  On a great note we have just broke $82,000 for THON!  With one canning trip left we have high hopes of breaking our goal of $100,000 and have now even increased our goal to $110,000. This should guarantee a spot in this year’s top ten maybe even higher the way the economy is. Remember if you want to donate to THON in our name go to THON.org and click on donate. Even more good news comes in the form of four new pledges for spring 09 pledge class. Zeta pledge class consists of:

• Brett Smith- Finance Major               
• Chad Lear- Communications Major  
• Don Sullivan- Supply Chain Major    
• Jake Finocchio- Undecided               

These are men who we think can one day lead this house to even higher places than those before them. We are always trying to instill a sense of house pride in these men and teaching them to always try and improve that which you the opportunity to.

As far as the house goes we have had many improvements recently thanks to alumni in particular. For all of you who donated to help raise money for our rush banner I would personally like to thank you, it looks amazing and will be used for many years to come. Also the house now has an ice machine thanks to Brother Larry Walker! Once we get that hooked up it will be an amazing improvement and convenience. I would also personally like to thank Brother Tommy Songer, he has been such a help with dealing with GHS and getting the house improved. Also a big thank you to our alumni advisor Shawn Smith who has helped me get the hang of things and always been there when I needed a question answered.

 Mark your calendar April 24-26 is blue white weekend! I know this is great time to bring up your families and to see old friends. We would like to invite you to have breakfast in the Old Gal on Saturday April 25^th. It will be a breakfast buffet and all of you and your families are invited! We will be having house tours and it will be a great chance to show your families the house, and after the game we will be having a date party at the house and everyone is welcome.
