Upsilon Chapter, Inc. Housing Corporation
Upsilon Chapter, Inc. is the housing corporation of Upsilon Chapter. Established in 1948, it exists to own, maintain, or improve a house for use by students at Penn State who are members of the Chapter. The housing corporation was established shortly after the merger between Alpha Kappi Pi and Alpha Sigma Phi when it was determined that the members of Alpha Sigma Phi would move from their house on Prospect Avenue to the house at Fairmount Avenue occupied by the Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Pi. For one year, there were two sets of Alpha Sigma Phi chapters operating concurrently while the housing situation was situated.
The housing corporation continues to exist in modern times as a vehicle for the Chapter to purchase a home and offset the costs of student renters in the house. Upsilon Chapter, Inc. officers meet throughout the year as needed and once per year in-person.
